Rosen Hotels has a widely diverse employee population that ranges in age, demographics, and health risks. Their health plan members also include an above-average number of diabetics. Despite this, on a per capita basis their healthcare costs are over 40 percent less than the national average.
How does Rosen Hotels manage to keep cost low and quality of care high? One way includes the Rosen Medical Center – its patient-centered onsite healthcare facility. Through this service, Rosen Hotels provides associates with convenient access to quality healthcare, preventive and lab services, in-house medications, free transportation and more. By providing convenient access to these services, they reduce a common barrier to improving quality of life.
Partnering with Interactive Health to provide a comprehensive wellness program is another way Rosen Hotels shows their associates they care. Scott Douglas, Strategic Account Executive was asked to work with Rosen Hotels to quarterback a multi-partner lab integration, roll-out the year-round wellness program and develop a campaign to increase health evaluation participation among a diverse workforce across nine hotel properties and central offices.
Together, Interactive Health and Rosen Hotels executed a multi-faceted plan designed to improve employee health and keep healthcare costs down. Faced with the challenge of educating a culturally diverse workforce on the components and benefits of the wellness program, Interactive Health and the Wellness Initiative Network (WIN) team of wellness champions completed multiple in-person enrollment meetings. They used translators to share wellness program information with French, Creole and Spanish speaking associates. Additionally, a video was created and shared highlighting the President/CEO promoting the value of the program. Associates also received mailed information packets in three different languages as a follow up to the enrollment meetings.
Rosen Hotels has already exceeded their 2019 health evaluation goals and more importantly, their associates are better informed and empowered to take the necessary steps to improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and the communities they serve.
