Ginger Claflin, RN works for a global pharmaceutical company and is Interactive Health’s primary contact for their employee wellness program. Connecting with one’s physician is a key focus for their wellness program and Ginger actively promotes an easy online process for employees to share their health screening results with their doctor. Following a recent onsite health screening, Ginger learned first-hand that this process worked exactly as planned and provided her with immediate treatment for a previously undiagnosed disease.
How an easy and efficient process helped Ginger get the help she needed
As a registered nurse, I am often guilty of neglecting my own health while caring for others. Over the past year, my health was declining. I was experiencing unexplained weight gain, brittle nails, dry skin and extreme fatigue. I was concerned, but just didn’t take the time to put the pieces together until I logged onto our member website to get my test results from our annual worksite health screening.
Our member website, powered by Interactive Health includes a red, yellow and green identification system to easily alert members when their test results are out of range. When I logged in to view my health screening results; I saw red flags next to my cholesterol and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) results indicating that they were out of the normal range. I immediately clicked on a button to send my results to my physician. In less than 2 hours, I received a text from my doctor telling me that the test results indicated that I had a disease called hypothyroidism and a prescription was called into my pharmacy so I could start treatment right away.
I plan to share this personal experience with our employees. The process of sending my test results to my doctor worked exactly the way it was intended, and I am now on the road to recovery.
