Interactive Health, a national leader for its personalized wellness solutions, announced today it has again earned Accreditation With Performance Reporting status in Wellness and Health Promotion from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This credential verifies to employers Interactive Health’s use of industry best practices and demonstrates its commitment to quality improvement, increased performance measures and better health outcomes.
The NCQA Wellness and Health Promotion credential provides employers a way to evaluate providers. “NCQA’s Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation requires organizations to demonstrate their compliance with well-defined standards and quality measures,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA President. “The NCQA seal will provide employers and consumers with the information they need to choose the best program in their markets.” While every provider may seek this reputation, NCQA rigorously tests and validates the ability of the organization to deliver upon the promise.
Interactive Health is one of only two providers to continuously hold Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation since its inception. Interactive Health earned its first NCQA Accreditation in 2009, and has achieved Accreditation With Performance Reporting status continuously since 2010. The credential illustrates Interactive Health’s willingness to provide statistics on outcomes achieved and have all services, policies, processes, and procedures – including those that protect the privacy of participants – externally audited by a national oversight committee of physicians.
“Achieving this accreditation is the goal of every wellness organization that is focused on quality and results. We have grown tremendously in recent years and NCQA’s standards have increasingly become more rigorous, which we applaud,” said Jane Ruppert, Vice President of Health Services at Interactive Health. “NCQA’s Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation program is designed to highlight only the top wellness providers that have exceptional performance standards. Maintaining this elite level of accreditation is further evidence of our team’s collective, vigorous and ongoing commitment to providing our clients with only the highest quality health management solutions. The thoughtful processes that have been validated by NCQA are what allow us to continuously innovate successfully for our clients and members.”
NCQA is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The organization’s standards are set high to help health promotion organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, increase health behavior change in eligible individuals and create an environment of continuous improvement. No comparable evaluation exists for wellness and health promotion programs.
Accreditation With Performance Reporting status is granted to those providers that offer a comprehensive full-service wellness program using industry-leading, evidence-based standards to assess key areas of health promotion. The organization’s programs must meet or exceed NCQA standards for wellness and health promotion, and the organization reports results for a specified number of NCQA Wellness and Health Promotion performance measures.
During the voluntary Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation process, NCQA rigorously evaluates key areas of health promotion, including how wellness programs are implemented in the workplace, how services such as health coaching are provided to help eligible individuals develop skills to make healthy choices, and how sensitive health information of eligible individuals is properly safeguarded.
A national oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team’s findings and assigns an accreditation level based on the performance level of each organization being evaluated to NCQA’s standards.
